Hello! My name is Emma Fox, and welcome to my online learning portfolio.
This website/blog is a place for me to document my experiences during my time with the University Honors Program as an undergraduate student. I will be reflecting on said experiences and documenting how they have (or have not) shaped my academic, professional, and personal development.
A few things you should know about me right off the bat: I am entering my final year of undergrad at the University of Cincinnati as a Neurobiology major with a minor in Spanish Language. I am heavily involved with the Honors Program as one of its student ambassadors, and at any given moment you will likely find me in the Honors Lounge having a conversation with the Honors staff or napping on our famous couch in between classes. I am Cincy born and raised, but had a brief 10-year stint in Jackson, Tennessee in which time I cultivated a love of horseback riding and sweet tea. I am a self-proclaimed feminist who is out to dismantle the negative connotations associated with that label and a social justice junkie. My brother is my best friend, I drink my cream with coffee, my Facebook profile has more articles from the Onion and videos of small animals than I’d like to admit, and it is a secret aspiration of mine to become the world’s first Broadway star/Neuroscientist.
Right now, I’m in a place in my academic career where I am not yet certain of what direction my future will take. I know I want to work in the health field and work with people, but I am not sure if these desires will manifest themselves as medical school or graduate school. This uncertainty is often times frustrating and terrifying, but it is ultimately exciting; I only have more time, more things to learn, and more options to create a life that is all my own.
I hope you enjoy this blog and follow me on my journey at #thehottestcollegeinamerica!
